On behalf of all the staff at Canebrake, I would like to wish you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas and a Happy 2010. Thanks to all of you for your patronage. The staff has asked me to express their appreciation for your generosity in your holiday giving.
We are excited and looking forward to moving Old Man Winter out of here and getting started this Spring with another golf season at Canebrake. Josh has some special events planned for you in the interim, so keep your eyes open for future email announcements.
Breakfast with Santa was a big hit and the golf cart parade was a success. Santa made a double appearance at Canebrake and everyone always loves to see Santa! Cart parade pictures are already in place for your viewing pleasure and breakfast with Santa photos are coming.
Alice has introduced four new Canebrake members and all of them are residents. Please take a moment to welcome them if you happen to encounter these new members at the club. We have experienced a spike in home construction activity and we hope Canebrake will lead our country out of the recession in 2010.
Our holiday schedule will be a bit abbreviated, so please consult the calendar or call the club if you have questions as to our hours of operation.
We have already been planning many fun events for you in the coming year and will introduce the calendar in early 2010.
See you around the club,
Jack
Many thanks to everyone who participated in Canebrake Club's 2009 “Golf Cart Christmas Parade”. A great time was had by all! 8 beautifully decorated carts travelled the entire route around Piney Creek Circle, allowing residents throughout the community to view this fun event from the comfort of their homes. Grand Marshall, Ms. Emily Cunningham, along with Santa, led the parade in style, welcoming everyone and wishing a Merry Christmas to all! It was an absolutely beautiful day for the parade!
Thanks to our judges, Hal & Carol Haney and Andy & Betty Prichard. Their decisions were difficult and they did a wonderful job.
• Ms. Pam Dolan took 1st place in the "Best Cart" category and was awarded $200.
• "Most Creative" went to Keil Oliver with a $75 prize.
• And this year's "Most Lights" Award, along with $50, went to Chris and Kim Harwell.
All of the cart participants received a surprise gift for entering the parade.
We'd like to extend a special “Thank You” to Ms. Joanne Allen and Ms. Kathy Workman for all your hard work in making the parade possible and for organizing the wonderful prizes! We'd also like to thank Chef Ron and the food and beverage staff for all the goodies and hot chocolate.
